Back From Our Blogging Break

After a hiatus from the blog, we are back and will inundate the blog with photos. The end of the semester/school year/vacation left us busy but we are happy to back in a routine.

We have started the long process of potty training Kale (with another baby on the way in August, the shortest time possible with two children in diapers is desired).

Connor finished the Spring soccer season up the last week of May and we enjoyed seeing his improvement. His understanding of the game has increased since last Fall which makes the game more fun for him. He will be playing again next year.

Kale trying to stay warm at Connor's early morning soccer game. She enjoyed watching her brother play but mom and dad had to keep a close eye on her as she often tried to join the game.

Kale has taken a liking to Elmo in recent months. Here she is dancing with the Hokie-Pokie Elmo.

We took Connor out of school for his last week in order to beat the summer rush to Florida (it worked by the way) AND, despite the suffering he faced by missing a week's worth of knowledge, he willingly missed the last week of school to go spend a week in the sun. Here are some images and videos from the unofficial last day of school.

Apparently, Connor was attacked by a swarm of bees in his sleep, leaving his face malformed and speech impaired.

Kale dressed up in one of her new and innovative ("cutting edge") fashion statements in order to walk Connor to his last day of first grade. Here, she has chosen a salvation army hat, accompanied by a fashionable stuffed animal (a women's most precious accessory) and accentuated by a Prada sippy cup.

On May 24th, we flew USA 3000 to St. Petersburg. From there, we rented a car and headed for Orlando (about a 1 hour drive). We stayed at the All Star Movies Resort in Disney World and spent four days in the parks: 2 at the Magic Kingdom, 1 at Epcot and 1 at Animal Kingdom.

The All-Star Movie Resorts has various themes: Fantasia, Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians, and the Love Bug, which is where we stayed.

Eating some popcorn, watching one of the many Disney channels available in the room. Kale decided a normal bowl would not do but needed to use the ice bucket to get her snack time on.

Our first day, we spent in Epcot. Half of the park is rides (based around the theme of science and technology) while the other half is devoted to other cultures, complete with scaled-down replicas of architecture, etc.

After bravely fighting his way past a Viking guard, Connor led us into Norway by ship.

Our Hero (he vanquished the guy who was riding that motorized scooter behind him. I tried to tell Connor that the man was not a threat but Connor was in the zone).

We were somewhat concerned that Kale would be afraid of the characters but the very first character we saw, Donald Duck, Kale attacked.

Sadly, Connor was still in the zone, and right after this photo was taken, he attacked Donald.

Finding Nemo and Friends is a newer section of Epcot and very cool. It has aquariums and a short ride in clam shells. One really cool show is "Turtle Talk with Crush," which is a cartoon but new technology allows the cartoon turtle to interact with kids in the audience and answer their questions.

Bruce--The Shark.

"Futuristic" video games at Epcot (they could see an image on the floor).

After lunch in China, and dinner in France, we spent the evening hanging out in Morocco, waiting for the fireworks to start.

Kale and Connor dancing to a Moroccan Band.

After a long first day, we got took the shuttle back to the hotel for some needed rest.
